The Cultural Park of River Martín

As it passes near the foothills of the Iberian mountain range, the river Martín has created deep gorges and narrows. These are spots of great natural beauty containing a rich artistic and historical heritage. Besides, they are ideal for hiking and other sports.

From Albalate to Muniesa, the middle tract of the river contains notable examples of cave paintings, aside from numerous traces of its Iberian past. The Cultural Park of River Martín is devoted to the preservation and promotion of this natural and historical treasure, which tells us about the way men adapted and merged with their habitat.

Albalate del Arzobispo is the only town in the county of Bajo Martín that is located inside the park, which starts from this village and follows up the river as far as Montalbán. The Park is crossed by a number of perfectly signalled hiking paths, which allow us to visit its paintings and archaeological sites while at the same time we can enjoy nature.
